Leather
The leather we use is a retouched full grain, ie smoothed. This allows you to remove a good part of the characteristics of the full grain that we mentioned before, after which the leather is dyed, obtaining a homogeneous color, printed and finished with protective products to facilitate cleaning.
The wrinkles of the leather will be slightly visible but the small imperfections, which are characteristic for natural leather lovers, are hidden.
The thickness of the leather we use is 0.8 / 1 mm.
Aniline
Aniline leather is the most natural and valuable, and only top quality leathers are used, with few defects.
Aniline, which is not a covering dye, but a transparent dye, highlights and enhances all the characteristics of the leather, leaving it natural and unaltered, making it unique.
Aniline leathers, having only a slight transparent surface protection, are sensitive to wear and light, stain and get dirty easily, so you need to take care of them by carrying out constant cleaning to maintain their natural beauty.
All this sacrifice, if we want to call it that, is to have the top of natural leather, breathable with a very soft touch.
The Nubuck
First choice leathers are also used for another type of leather, nubuck. It is always an aniline finishing but with a pleasant velvety and slightly writing appearance, given by a light grinding of the surface, which enhances a soft and warm touch. In fact, in the points of greatest friction, the nubuck tends to become more shiny because the very light hair flattens out, which gives the writing effect.
Another characteristic of nubuck, as for aniline, is its relative resistance to light. Constantly exposed to sunlight, the color may lighten over time.
However, they are exceptional leathers, which give your furniture a unique elegance, however, as with all beautiful things, they are the most expensive and the most delicate.
