After tanning, the leather is split in two, i.e. horizontally sectioned (cut like a sandwich).
In the upper part, the one immediately under the hair we find the full grain, which is the most precious part.
It is characterized by all the small imperfections present in the skin: wrinkles, insect bites, taroli, flower bass, scars and marks. These are not believed to be defects unless there are open cuts or scars. While in the lower one the crust is obtained, which, with specific processing techniques, is obtained the cuoietto/cuoio.
We, like many in our sector, call it leather, because many combine the name cuoietto/cuoio with regenerated leather, that is, a mixture of leather and glues pressed into sheets, which are dyed and printed like leather.Visually, for a non-expert person, it can be confused with leather, but its resistance over time is very limited.
For this reason Quia has chosen NOT to use regenerated leather.
